circulation

Circulation of material, physical or digital, is a keystone operation.
During circulation as patron and staff interact the library can shine.
A library that understands how vital circulation is can harness that moment to showcase library services and programs.

Circulation covers many procedures. Libraries share their policies and some guidelines for circulation as it relates to informing patrons but not many will post the manual and procedures staff are using. To get that information reach out to libraries near you, those with similar collection or staff size and libraries that use the same ILS. It can be helpful to ask for this information from libraries bigger than yours and outside of your area.
